Bruhad Vahivati Shabdkosh (English-Gujarati)
Gujarat State, on its inception, announced the policy of keeping the language of the administration of the state with the people at all levels and converting the English language used in the administration to Gujarati at the earliest. It is in this context that the state of Gujarat with the creation of the state of Gujarat is the first of its kind! The Act enacted “The Act on the Official Languages of Gujarat, 1” and declared the Gujarati language as the official language of Gujarat. The Office of the Director of Languages issued an 'administrative dictionary' in 3 and 'supplementation' in 3, so that the implementation of this official language policy of the government would be speeded up, flexibility and uniformity in the languages used throughout the state.
Language is a living thing. They must be constantly evolving. As the administration became more and more people-oriented, the day-to-day dissemination of government activities and the diversification of its operations made the words in the administrative dictionary 'and supplementation' seem insufficient. In order to keep the administrative terminology up to date, the office has prepared this 'Large Administrative Word Cell'. At present, the administrative system of Gujarat operates mostly in Rajbhasha Gujarati and accordingly the 'Buhad Administrative Dictionary' will be available to the Government officials, employees in the administration of English words, surnames, etc. The desired Gujarati features will be available and it will be extremely useful in expression. As a result, it is believed that the implementation of the official language policy of the Gujarat Government will facilitate and accelerate the policy.
The Kha Dictionary is divided into three parts:
Part 1 contains the English terms and terminology related to administration, while Part lI contains the official designation and its synonym. Different departments, accounts, general designations of offices, as well as their special surnames and synonyms are given below the administrative department.
In Part llI, the frequently used "abbreviations" in Government departments / accounts and their English as well as Gujarati completions, the national level has adopted some of the central government's status quo in order to maintain equality, while some have developed new ones, so some of them are innovative and It may seem unfamiliar, but it will get accustomed over time.
